What is a Giclée Print?
The term ‘giclée,’ pronounced ‘zhee-clay,’ was coined by digital imaging specialists in California and derives from the French verb gicler, meaning ‘to spray.’
Giclée refers to a high-quality inkjet print that is both fade-resistant and waterproof. These prints are produced using professional-grade equipment on archival substrates, such as specialty photo paper or canvas. With archival inks and papers, giclée prints achieve a vibrant color range and exceptionally deep blacks, ensuring lasting beauty and detail.
